Snapzpro kicks ass for screen capture images/films on the mac. The trial version is perfect for my needs but I imagine the for-pay version is tht much better.

Thank you for the clarification Aenea :) I have an iMac G5 from 2005 with leopard installed. I havent had any problems with using SL either with Tiger or LEopard installed using both the standard viewer and the windlight viewer. Most of the problems people have with degraded experiences in SL using an iMac are simply the preference settings (incorrectly set) in their viewer, or not having read the knowledge base for SL about graphics card usage and settings. My iMac has 128M ATI Radeon Graphics with 1 Gig of system Ram and as far as I am concerned, my SL experience has been flawless.

If anyone would like more info on how to get a great experience in SL, just message me Rocket Flasheart in SL, or come by my office "Dragon Tail Press" on the island of Etopia Prime (Etopia and Etopia Prime are connected islands and easily found in SL search)

I am also looking forward to a good solution for recording machinima in SL on a mac. Everyone I have spoken to says that the control+option+1 keystrokes do not turn off the UI in their viewer for recording with the UI visible. Any help on the proper keystrokes would be very helpful to a great many.

@Rocket:

I agree with what you say, and that's always been the hidden aspect of this tutorial. In truth, on my iMac, SL runs slower, and screen capture is less smooth, than in Windows. When I was trying alternatives, this is what worked for me.

I'm about to get a new iMac, so I may revisit this and update it if I'm able to effectively capture video solely on OS X.

Meanwhile, this tutorial has helped many who have a similar setup as I. Hope you find the tutorial you're looking for.
